Getting Ready for Christrmas

Audrey setting up a little village
Elfie was a bit more active and crazy this year.  Here he had gotten into some of our leftover Halloween candy.
The girls before their church Christmas performance.
Audrey doing her speaking part. Each of the girls had two lines - I apparently did not get a photo of Brooke doing either of hers.

Post performance.  I just think they look so grown up here!
 Elfie being mischievous again!

Me and my friend Mel at her house for a Christmas party.  She's the hostess with the mostest!
The girls at the party - how cute are we??
Oh, Elfie - making snow angels in the sugar!
Not really Christmas related, but Brooke lost her front tooth!!
 Elfie made photocopies of himself!

My friend Lexi had a party before the Christmas parade.  She had snow delivered!  It was super fun for the kids - and the weather was really cold so it really seemed like Christmas.
The girls with their friend Landry getting ready to catch candy, beads, and stuffed animals at the parade
Best. Float. Ever!

Brooke at her class's Christmas party - making gingerbread houses and powdered donut snowmen.
Audrey and her friend Amelia at her class's Christmas party - making reindeer and a gingerbread house

Thanksgiving

Oh jeez.  It seems as if I am never caught up!!  And now I am over into a new year, so I've got to go back and change the date on all of these posts so that I can print out my yearly blog book.  Which I am an entire year behind on!!

Enough of my ever present discussion of being behind......

This year we had Thanksgiving with my family is MS.  And since we alternate holidays we also did Christmas too.  Sadly these pics are really in no particular order at all.

The four cousins getting ready to eat Thanksgiving dinner.  Note the adorable hand turkey placecards!

I brought the kids some silly string and those weird plastic bubbles that you blow - the silly string war lasted about 15 seconds.  The bubbles lasted for considerably longer.  Thank you dollar store!
The annual picture in the leaf pile
Opening some Christmas presents with the fam!  The shirts they are wearing were Christmas presents that they got the previous day.  They are now their favorites!
Me, my sister Amy, and my Dad.  Funny story - Amy (though she blames her hubby) managed to make it to MS without her suitcase!  She and I did a mad shopping dash the first night she was there.  Love all the new stuff she got.  I am thinking of "forgetting" my suitcase soon!

Here are the girls rocking their Indian shirts.  Not sure what is up with their crazy faces - but I love it!
Audrey modeling her shirt.  She selected Pocahontas as her Indian name.
Brooke showing off her Indian gear.  Her name was on the back of the shirt - I think that it was Princess Flower.

The girls with their Granddad.  So cute!
The cousins helping with the sweet potato topping
Darren and I brought an oil-less turkey fryer.  And Gary was game to give it a try!  As you can see for the massive amount of pictures, we were enthralled by this.

 Checking on it...looking good!

D bringing it inside....also looking good!

Me, my mom, and my sister - and of course that gorgeous turkey!

The girls with Gramma and Gary - after opening presents for Christmas
I am including this only cause I am impressed with my craftiness!  I made the ladies on my side of the family these adorable (in my opinion) Christmas card holders.  Three different ones!
Playing Connect 4 - I rocked at this game!!
The girls, their new favorite guys, and Granddaddy and Jane - Audrey was mid-yawn.

Six Year Stats

The girls had their yearly well check appointment back in November.  For the most part it was super uneventful - no more shots until they are like 12!!  Crazy.

The only issue was the fact that Audrey did not pass her vision test.  The doctor did not seem too worried about it, but did recommend that I take her to the eye doctor.  And then just a few days later we got a note home from school that told us that Audrey did not pass her vision test at school either.  So we quickly scheduled an appointment with the eye doctor.  Audrey was quite concerned that she was going to have to wear glasses - to the point of tears in fact.  However, I am happy to report that the appointment went fine and she does not need glasses.  Though honestly it is just a matter of time before genetics catches up with her and she will indeed be a glasses wearer!

Here are the stats from the visit:
Audrey:
height 3' 10" which is 64.7%
weight 47 lbs 4 oz which is 63.9%

Brooke:
height 4' which is 91.5%
weight 55 lbs 6 oz which is 89.4%
